“WEIMARANERS & VIZSLAS ARE A GIFT EVERYDAY”

The Las Vegas Weimaraner Club was created in October of 2005.

The rescue has recently come under the wing of the club.

The New Las Vegas Weimaraner Club & Rescue is all volunteer based.

We are looking for people that can donate their talents to make our group a success.

Without the help of our volunteers we would not be able to save Weims that are

abandoned in & around the Las Vegas area.

In 2005 The Las Vegas Weimaraner Rescue rescued and placed 15 Weims.

In 2006 it increased to 30 Weims.

Now we are in 2008 we now have rescued over 115 weimaraners & mixes.

I would hate to think of what might have happened or could happen to the weims

if we did not have a rescue. I believe that the Rescue can only be successful if

we work as a TEAM. It can’t be a one-person job. It would just take a couple

of minutes of your time to help. We can make this happen together.

My motto is “It is all about the dogs”. They deserve to live a wonderful safe life.

In the past The Las Vegas Weimaraner Club has raised funds for the Rescue

by having a dog wash at Soggy Dog Wash, a raffle, an online art auction,

a garage sale, a Cafépress Store started, family VW obedience trainings,

Sedona’s Birthday Party Fundraiser, & Donations.

The Calendar Contests and the “In Memoriam” donation are two new

fundraising programs that are now in place. Please see all of our fundraisers at the bottom.

We would love help in making these functions a success with your help.

These funds paid for the Vet & Boarding bills associated with rescue Weims.

Rescue Weims come from local shelters and from people relinquishing their

rights to their Weims. We also had some wonderful help from our Las Vegas

Weimaraner Club members at the Celebrity Dog Walk & Pet-A-Palooza with

raising Weimaraner Awareness and finding homes for Weims.

What we have:

Great Vets that currently work with the Rescue and will continue to in the future.

A wonderful Photographer that donates pictures of our rescue weims for the

An awning, table, chairs, & exercise pens that can be used at events.

Advertising in Lucky Dog Mag, Vegas Dog Mag, The Club Website, Dogster.com, & soon Petfinder.com.

Continue the Fundraising Ideas that we have used in the past.

Foster & Adoptive Homes. Otherwise the Weims must stay at the Vets office, an added expense.

Dear Las Vegas Weimaraner Club & Rescue members,

Since our first club gathering in October 2005 we have grown to over 250 Weims, 26 Vizslas, & 8 mixes. I am so excited about 2009.

Our group has really made a difference in the community. We have saved 120 dogs in the last 3 years that were abandoned at shelters, neglected, or their families could no longer provide care for them. Due to the increase in foreclosures we have more animals in our community coming into shelters & rescues everyday. We also saved 3 litters of puppies that were abandoned from their breeders & very sick Weims too. Our group supports Southern Nevada & surrounding areas.

We are completely operated by volunteers and these dogs would have perished without volunteers. I appreciate all the time and money donated to help save these dogs. Our adoption team strives to find the best matches for families & our rescues.

We want this to be their forever home because they have been through so much in their lives they deserve the best.

Unfortunately we do not have a rescue center so we have to rely on our volunteers, foster homes, vets, & sponsors. Saving these babies is very costly. If a dog has special needs or illnesses we have paid thousands to save them. While in our care, they receive medical care (shots/microchipping/spays/neuters/health), food, treats, training, foster homes, &/or boarding ($16 a day per dog). All money we raise goes to help us with these expenses. We raise money through fundraising events, donations, www.Cafepress.com , www.goodsearch.com, & adoption fees.
