Sage was
picked up from Lied Animal Shelter on 2/9/07.
We had
tried to pick her up on 1/25/07 but we were told we could not take her
home.
A Lied
Animal Shelter Volunteer told me
“Why should
we give the weims to the rescue when we can make
money off them.”
I reminded
the volunteer that the line for spays was long and
she had just had puppies so it would be a very
long time before she was adoptable.
She still
would not give her or the other weims that were
there to me.
This is a
picture of her on 1/23/07.

She had
puppies prior to arriving at Lied 1/23/07
As you can
see she was very large.
Lied
Animal Shelter called us at 10pm 2/8/07.
They asked
us to pick up all the weims at Lied by 730am
2/9/07 or they would be euthanized.
They said that we should know that any weims
that we pick up could or could not be sick.
I explained
to her what had happened on 1/25/07 and
that if the dogs were given to me then they might
not be sick.
I told her
we would be there the next morning to pick all the weims
up.
We picked
up SAGE & TUCKER.

ABOUT TUCKER
The
pictures below are of SAGE on Friday 2/9/07 she was bones.
She is so
sweet. She laid
on my lap the entire time I was at the vet.
I had to lift her head off me to take
these pictures. J

We took
her originally at Centennial Hills Animal Hospital.
A few days
later we moved her to Tropicana Animal Hospital.
She was
diagnosed with Distemper.
Thanks to
the many donations that we received from all over the country
and the great vets at Tropicana we were able to
keep SAGE alive.
We were
afraid that her spirits were dying because she had to be quarantined for so
long.
We were so
happy when a wonderful family came forward and offered to foster her.
Here is a
note from SAGE’s Foster Family & Some Recent
Photos
Hello Everyone! -
We
are pleased to finally be sending you some pictures of Sage in her new home
with us.
She
really loves our apartment and she has multiple sleeping areas throughout
the house.
She
is getting a lot more energy and loves to relax after a nice walk around
the complex.
She
loves all of her sleeping amenities.
She
will hide her nose under her blankets and make nests with them.
She
will play with her toys but does not want us to see her play with them, who
knows why.
She
definitely has a jump in her step and can even be caught galloping every
now and then
when we
come home for lunch and/or work.
She
also has quickly learned tricks of the trade for getting treats, like how
to sit, lay down, and shake. We even
heard her bark for the first time just last week, and can now be heard
letting out a deep, protective bark every now and then when she sees
someone out and is not sure of why they are out.
But
come close enough and she will show you that she is glad to see you by
wagging her tail heavily.
She
is very, very good about letting us know when she has to go to the
bathroom, even waking us up at night by nudging or licking our feet,
otherwise she gets our attention by flapping her large ears.
She
is eating very well and is going in to see the doctor tomorrow, so we will
let you know what he says and how she is doing. Ok, thank you for all
the support and donations for this wonderful baby.
She
has brought something special to our lives and we hope that she will keep
doing so for a long time. Enjoy the pictures,
she didn't mind posing for them.
Sincerely,
Liane, Carl, and Sage
