Boris is a wonderful dog. He is about three years old,
is neutered and up to date on shots, and has a very calm, mellow
temperament for a Weim. When I take him for walks, many people comment
that he is the most easy going Weim they have ever
seen. Sadly, we are putting Boris up for adoption because our
four-year-old daughter continues to show him so much affection (despite
repeated efforts to teach her otherwise), which has, at times, resulted in
Boris turning around to bite her. He is not a mean or vicious
dog—this is the only circumstance under which he has bitten anyone and I
can’t really say I blame him.
At any rate, our experience has led us to believe that
Boris does not belong in a home with children under the age of six.
He is absolutely fine with our two older daughters (ages eight and
ten) and is really great with our four-year-old as well, except when she
decides to pull his ears and roll on top of him until he can no longer
stand it (I repeat—I have tried to teach her not to do this).
Boris probably would not do well with another big dog in
the house. He also would not do well with cats. He may do well
with smaller dogs, but this is only a guess. He is not crate trained
but behaves nicely in the house and is a good sleeper. He is house
trained. He is very well mannered and would make a great companion to
someone who enjoys exercise and loves dogs.
